High Rise Living In Toronto : Part 1

As I took a walk around Toronto this past weekend I began to realize that the downtown core has quite a few large scale condominium projects currently under construction.

And I mean LARGE SCALE!

Take for example: Aura at College Parks located at the intersection of Yonge and Gerrard streets.
Designed by Mississauga, Ontario based Graziani + Corazza Architects and standing at a planned staggering 78 storeys tall, Aura will be the country’s tallest standing condominium upon completion.

The building, currently under construction and set for completion this coming winter, offers a three storey granite and glass podium at the base of the structure for boutiques, cafes, banks and restaurants all open to the public. Above the podium, the 78 floor structure shoots straight up, sheathed entirely in glass.

The fifth floor of Aura will offer tenant amenities including a billiard room, cyber lounge, guest suites, a fully equipped kitchen and party rooms with access to a landscaped rooftop patio complete with “cabana like retreats” and a fireside lounge.

The residential suites are promoted as incorporating “intelligent layouts, superior features and the finishes that allow true comfort for potential buyers”.

Every unit will offer tenants floor to ceiling windows, with a view that is sure to pay for itself!

Check out these real pictures of the view from the 55th floor:

Truly stunning!
